There Is So Much We Can Do!

In this season sometimes I feel like I am just waiting for life to get back to normal. I'm just waiting until the day I can have friends over again, or I'm waiting until I can go back into the church building. I often find myself missing out on the opportunities that this season is giving me.

What can we do in the waiting?

First thing we can do is that we can get our heart aligned with God's heart. In a year of cancelled school, prom, concerts, and sports, God is not cancelled. His goodness is not cancelled. His plan is not cancelled. His healing power is not cancelled. And His peace is not cancelled. I am constantly reminding myself that He has a plan that is good. In Romans 8:28 TPT it says “So we are convinced that every detail of our lives is continually woven together to fit into God’s perfect plan of bringing good into our lives, for we are his lovers who have been called to fulfill his designed purpose.” God has a plan to bring goodness into our lives and his purpose will be fulfilled even through all of this.

Second, I challenge you to try to use the gifts and talents that God has given you to do something new. If that is recording a worship song and posting it on social media, writing devotionals, or maybe creating a picture or graphic to express a bible verse. This is a great way to use the extra time you have. Not only will this allow you to grow in the talents God has given you, you can also impact someone else in this season. Something that I have been doing in this season is to grow in graphic design and photoshop. I have had a lot of time to express myself creatively through that platform. And out of it I have had great opportunities to share what God is doing in my life.

We can also use this time to create new habits. This is a great time to change some of our ways. Learning a new morning routine that can give you time with the Lord is super important. Or what else can we do in this season that will better ourselves when we go back to normal? Is it starting a workout routine or a new healthy diet? Maybe you can start doing a weekly planner to help you stay focused. Learn a new way to have personal devotional time with the Lord. Begin to journal what God is speaking to you. For me I found that I really enjoy putting in headphones, playing worship music, and then just walking and spending some quiet time with the Lord. I found that this clears my mind and allows me to hear from God.

Lastly, stay encouraged in Romans 5:3-4 - “And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.” Tribulation creates hope. After all this is done we will have hope. Isn't that great! God and his hope will be what people see from our current situation. We will all be built up better when we come out. This is only a season. People are excited for the church doors to open again, anticipation is building up. Use this time to build momentum that will continue when life gets back to normal. There is so much we can do in the waiting!
