Impatient For Something

Back to when I was a Senior, I had such a hard time figuring out what my plan was after high school. Debating on what college I was going to, or even where, and the bigger complication was what am I going to do in college? What am I passionate about, how am I able to use my passion for the Lord, and make an income out of it? During my entire senior year, I procrastinated the entire time when it came to deciding on what I was going to do, and honestly, it was a very stressful time because I decided to put everything on my back burner instead of trusting God’s timing.

During that year, I was completely impatient for something amazing to happen in my life. Everyone around me got amazing scholarships, accepted into universities with incredible SAT scores, and I didn’t get anything. Even though I never applied to any universities, it felt like I wasn’t enough for the colleges to accept me, plus tuition isn’t cheap. A moment when I realized that there is more to life is when the Lord slapped me with this verse, “For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope,” Jeremiah 29:11.

Even though days may seem stressful and plans don’t go the way you wanted it to, the Lord is always on your side. Even when you may feel like you can’t hear Him, He’s working through your life. While I was in the waiting season an opportunity came up for me to intern at Valley Family Church. It was never part of my plan, but it’s exactly where the Lord wanted me. And in that space of waiting I was able to figure out my next steps for college which was to receive a Bachelors degree in Fine Arts as a Graphic Designer.

“Never Stop Praying,” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that He exists that He rewards those who seek Him,” Hebrews 11:6

Trust in the Lord’s process and pursue Him because His plan is better than your plan. Even when you are impatient for something, you need to be patient for Him, because He has a plan for you.
